Enjoy good movies in a natural setting in Barcelona is possible. How? Very simple, with the initiative of MODIband you can enjoy another year of Sala Montjuïc, an outdoor cinema where the stars are the roof and walls, the Montjuïc Castle.
Sala Montjuïc runs the curtain on its 12th edition with three sessions per week, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday until 8 August. Films are screened in original version with subtitles and its subject is varied, classic blockbuster movies like “Grease” or “The Godfather” or present movies as “Django” or “Searching for Sugar Man.” But the proposal of this particular cinema goes further, and before each display there is a Jazz or Swing concert.
The festival takes place in the Castle of Montjuïc, in the gardens of the castle. Cinema a la fresca is thought to be a real picnic and you can enjoy the event with your own lawn chair or even for you to take your own food, although there is a bar and an eco-picnic service and rental sunbeds.
To access the place, the organization has provided free bus from Plaza España that will start 15 minutes before the concert and go down once the film is finished. It is also accessible by car or bike.
Tickets can be purchased at the box office and in advance in the web:
