Sonar, the Festival where Electronic turns into music

Kraftwerk

Since its inception, the Sonar festival has wanted to remain a benchmark for electronic music. And with this objective at the head, it has grown, it has been reinvented and has adapted to changing times without losing any of its essence. Feel like to get to know one of the most anticipated festivals in Barcelona?

Born in 1994, over the years it has become an international reference in electronic music. And every year it is reinvented: mergers with digital media, high audiovisual content … And, of course, Sonar+D: the place to discover new talent and musical offerings.

The aim of the Sonar Festival is clear: improving the relationship between creativity, innovation, technology and entertainment. What better place than this to discover both consolidated and emerging artists who are still seeking their place in the music scene?

Names like Skrillex, Hot Chip, Kindness, Powell Downites act on the same stage, on three consecutive days of good music and better atmosphere. The list of participants is long! Check it out and see who and when will perform at Sonar.

Tickets are on sale until June 15 -the festival takes place between the 18th and 20th of that month- and you can buy both tickets for the Sonar by Day and Sonar by night. Oh, and remember that the presale is cheaper!

To get to the Sonar by Day you have to go to Fira de Montjuïc, located in Avinguda Rius i Taulet. Doing it in public transport will not cost you much: you can do it by subway and get out at “Espanya” (green and red lines), by train (lines L8, S33, S4, S8, R5 and R6, all stopping at “Espanya “), and more than 10 bus lines. And, of course, you can come by car or, even better, by bike!

Instead, the Sonar by Night is celebrated in the Fira Gran Via, and you have to move there by train: the nearest stop is Europa I.

If you want a different, authentic and genuine festival, Sonar is the name you’re looking for. And if you do not believe us, come and find out!
