The Cursa El Corte Inglés 2017 convenes on Sunday 2 April its thirty-ninth edition in order to maintain European leadership, after strengthening its second position worldwide in the international ranking of popular athletic race, and establish itself as the great festival of Barcelona sport.
The race intensifies its solidarity, initiated in 1986, and this year concentrates its huge yields free diffusion mechanisms to the Sant Joan de Deu, Whose mission is help and care for people at risk of social exclusion or in vulnerable situations through 400 centres. To support this initiative, television and sports celebrities will participate in the race: FC Barcelona captain, Andrés Iniesta, the RCD Espanyol player, Gerard Moreno, the basketball player, Laia Palau, Actor Queco Novell, trail runner, Núria Picas, and the chefs Javier and Sergio Torres.
At 9.00am on Sunday 2 April and from the departure installed in Passeig de Gràcia/Gran Via, runners will enjoy the classic route of 10,766 km through the central streets of the city, alone or with their families and friends. Until Saturday 1 April, free registrations can be done in all Catalan El Corte Ingles and Hipercor, and through the web www.cursaelcorteingles.cat/en until March 31th.
