What to visit in Barcelona’s Raval

El Raval is one of the most authentic Barcelona’s historic neighborhoods. In 1988 the urban renewal project of  Raval district in order to make it a modern and safe place began. In it live people from multiple locations around the world that provide the largest cultural wealth in the city and variety of cuisine, customs and traditions. In addition, Raval is known for being one of the busiest neighborhoods and having many of the art studios, modern galleries and bookstores and best museums in Barcelona.   • Museo de Arte Contemporáneo de Barcelona (MACBA). Undoubtedly, the MACBA is the symbol of the urban transformation of Raval. It is the best museum in the city of Barcelona and therefore, if you visit this picturesque neighborhood you can not miss it. In addition to art works and exhibitions inside the MACBA, the area in which is located is also worth visiting. Have a drink in any of the surrounding terraces and relax watching the scenery and people

  • Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona (CCCB). It is a center that aims to promote artistic creation through exhibitions, debates, festivals, concerts, conferences, etc.. It is a unique place where you can enjoy art in every way, meet other artists, learn and experience new things. It is an open collective space of artists, creators, etc., and organizations willing to share their experiences.

  • Mercat de la Boqueria. It is one of the symbols of Barcelona and one of the best markets in the world. His visit is a must if you are traveling to Barcelona and do not know what to see in the Raval. In it you will find all kinds of shops since they offer many products.
