¿Conoces los recintos musicales más importantes de Barcelona

You know that Barcelona is a cosmopolitan and open city: it can also be seen in the melodies that sound on the street, in the historic center… and, above all, in its most important music venues! In Barcelona there are three major points where lovers of good music should go. We introduce them below!

THE 3 MOST IMPORTANT MUSIC VENUES IN BARCELONA

Palau de la Música Catalana

On Sant Pere Més Alt street, the modernist auditorium by the architect Lluís Domenech i Montaner is a wonder for your eyes and ears. The main building was funded by a few major donors engaged in industry and finance in the early twentieth century and has become the hub of music in Barcelona: more than 500 major events in a daily schedule that hosts the most transgressive flamenco, the most vibrant blues and jazz artists and a symphony orchestra in charge of collecting large classical pieces

Popularly known as Liceu, it is the oldest opera theater in Barcelona and one of the largest in the world. Located on Las Ramblas, it has over 2,000 seats, an excellent acoustics and a scheduling season that has managed to intersperse opera, dance, tours and external shows, so a visit to Liceu de Barcelona is a must experience.

Unlike the Liceu and the Palau de la Música, the Auditorium hosts a hybrid function within its walls. Its huge surface with an area of over 42,000 m2, has allowed to book a room for symphony orchestras and chamber ensembles of 2,800 seats; it has two smaller multipurpose spaces with capacity for 600 people.

The auditorium was designed by the Navarran architect Rafael Moneo and it was built based on current technical knowledge, as evidenced by the detailed study of sound around the building made by Higini Arau or the final format of the glass cubic dome in the center which provides light, in addition to a spectacular detail.

In the Auditorium, also, it has its headquarters the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra and the National Orchestra of Catalonia, which offers even greater security in accordance with the concerts and the dissemination of art from this vantage point close to one of the new centers of the city: Glories and 22 @.

Liceu, Palau de la Música and the Auditorium, the three music venues that all good music lovers should visit.
