The Forum in Barcelona is one of those areas that become, from the outset, an icon of the city. This place, formerly occupied by local industries became first a parkland and after the Forum Park, a leader in design and sustainability that you can not miss on your visit to Barcelona.
- The vast esplanade: The large square is an open area of over 80,000 square meters which can hold all kinds of events and celebrations. Furthermore, it is possible to create different areas within the same plaza as the space lends itself to division: the photovoltaic panel, one of the new icons of Barcelona which represents its commitment to the environment; the forest of columns, with an area of 15,000 square meters; and the birds, a perfect indoor structure to give a special touch to any event.
- The Auditorium Park: More than 12,000 square meters outdoors accommodate two auditoriums: the small, just over 1,450 square meters and which can fit 1,500 people, and the large, which can accommodate 3,500.
- The Tents: The two big tents of the Forum can accommodate more than 500 people, making them ideal for private parties, banquets …
- Leonardo Da Vinci Square: This square is located between the Museum of Natural Sciences and the Convention Center, and culminates in the Plaça dels afusellats. Along with Ernest Lluch square it is one big open space between buildings which is a channel of communication between them and as extra space to hold conferences and exhibitions.
Among the many events held here, perhaps the most famous is the Primavera Sound Barcelona. This music festival is held since 2001 in late May, and welcomes both artists with a great career and independent musicians. Premium quality above everything and you can listen to pop, rock, underground music…
Year after year, the impact of the festival has been growing and also the assistance that has come to reach 74,000 people.
Other less famous festivals and celebrations, such as the Chinese lantern festival is also held. Between December and March you can go to this lovely Chinese festival, which has a long tradition in its country of origin, dating back to 28 d. C.
The Forum is a unique space in Barcelona, and it is worth a visit if you want to see how the space can blend into the environment without losing its functionality and offering, at the same time, a citizen service.
